As I mentioned !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , I was blasting around Road America yesterday and today. This is what greeted me at the end of a wicked fast session.
The dipstick showed that I didn’t loose much oil, which is good. Not sure where it’s coming from, possibly the cap itself or a spark plug. I live close enough to the track I took it easy and drove it home, so I’ll look into it some more soon.
Also found I have a wicked exhaust leak, which happened the same session as the oil leak.
Track cars!

Is that cover baffled? I wonder if oil sloshes to the cap end on hard cornering, and out it comes.

That is what a friend suggested as well. I have no idea about if it is or not.

Not sure on this engine, but on some chain-driven OHC engines the timing chain can act as a conveyor and fill the top of the head with oil with sustained high RPM. Combine that tendency with the higher crankcase pressures from hard driving and it’s easy to see how you could have a bit of oil sneak past the fill cap.

Boo-urns. Hope you can get it sorted out soon. If it is the cap under sustained lateral Gs, how would you test it?
I had some G-load related problems yesterday during autocross test and tune, but
my eyeball
was the problem, not my car.

Probably the cap. Time for a catch can setup.

do you have good crankcase venting? if not it can push the dipstick out a little and spray oil like that
